ABOUT ME

I believe that a musician is an explorer of the soul, leading us to greater humanity.
As a performer on modern and Baroque violin, I seek to balance intelligent musicianship and emotional artistry in the search for beauty and truth.
TEACHING
Leah is based in Durham, NC, where she is in demand as a private teacher and chamber music coach. She served on the music faculty of UNC-Chapel Hill for 12 years, and currently maintains a private studio for ages 3 to adult. Her former students have gone on to successful careers in a variety of fields, including further musical study at the graduate level. Leah also serves as the Assistant Artistic Director of the Chapel Hill Chamber Music Workshop for adult amateur musicians.

"...a lot of lessons I learned while playing violin show up in my day job of trying to put a rocket on Mars, so I just wanted to say thank you for everything, and I am eternally grateful for the path you sent me down with music."
B. W.
"I wanted to thank you for teaching me all those years ago! I had just moved from Texas, was serious about the violin, and was so lucky to find someone like you to keep me in the right direction and give me the inspiration, nurturing, and discipline I needed at that time."
